A type VII C U-boot. It was launched on 15 December 1942, and commissioned on 26 January 1943 under the command of Oberleutnant zur See Guido Hyronimus.

It sank on 20.08.1943 on a training misson, after a collision with the target ship Bolkoburg. The crew consisted of 43 men, of which 22 survived and 21 perished in the Baltic Sea.

The wreck lies deep - 82 meters under the surface of the Baltic Sea, north of Jastarnia, Hel Peninsula. Identification of the wreck was performed by Baltictech team, with a thorough investigation conducted by Daniel Pastwa. The forward torpedo hatch is open, and after removing the nets from the conning tower (the model was created before that), the RDF antenna, periscopes, and UZO were uncovered. The stern part of the wreck is destroyed as a result of above-mentioned collision.

The scanning took 50 minutes of bottom time, with a total dive time exceeding 3 hours. Almost 10 000 photos were used to reconstruct the model.
